A project involving Assoc. Prof. Özlem Kaplan from our department has been granted support under the TÜBİTAK 1001 program.

The project titled "Development of Tirzepatide-Loaded Reverse Micelle-Based Self-Emulsifying Systems and Polymeric Nanocarriers for Oral Administration", in which Assoc. Prof. Özlem Kaplan from our department is involved as a researcher, has been granted support under the TÜBİTAK 1001 - Scientific and Technological Research Projects Funding Program.

The project aims to develop innovative nanotechnological drug delivery systems for oral administration of tirzepatide, an active compound used in the treatment of Type 2 diabetes, as an alternative to its current subcutaneous injection form.

This multidisciplinary and inter-university collaborative project is coordinated by Dr. Numan Eczacıoğlu, a faculty member of the Department of Bioengineering at Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University.

The project team includes:
• Prof. Dr. Andreas Bernkop-Schnürch (University of Innsbruck) and Prof. Dr. Kezban Ulubayram (Hacettepe University) as advisors,
• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Koray Gök (Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa), Dr. Lecturer Kevser Bal (Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem Kaplan (Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University), and Dr. Şükrü Öztürk (Hacettepe University) as researchers.

The scientific outcomes to be obtained from this project are expected to make significant contributions to advanced drug delivery technologies.

We congratulate the project team and wish them continued success.
